Mapping Spot Log Data During Upload
First, please make sure that your spot logs are in the correct CSV format for upload. Tips for Using the Spot Log Upload Template. Once your spot log data matches the CSV template and is ready to upload to the account, you'll want to follow these steps as you upload the data.
After you select the CSV file to upload, you will see a screen with options for mapping the column headers of your file to the touchpoint. Some column headers may be automatically picked up and others will need to be assigned manually by you.
Here are examples of upload mapping to choose from:
1. The first required entry is touchpoint. Select the touchpoint to which you'd like the spots to upload. This will be a column in your data or the name of a touchpoint you have already created.
Please note that if you are uploading to multiple touchpoints, you will need to use the appropriate FILE COLUMN from your spreadsheet.
2. Scrolling down, you will map your column names in your CSV for date, time, and time zone. Adjust the pull-down if the name of your column is different than what is in the box.
If your file contains only ONE time zone, you may leave the first time zone setting as "Use the default below", then pick the correct time zone in the Default section. If you have more than one time zone in your upload, you MUST map to a time zone column in the CSV.
3. If the spot duration does not default to the correct column from your CSV, set the mapping to the appropriate column name.
4. Leave the Response Window alone for now. This makes it possible to adjust within the interface later.
5. Select a cost column, toll-free number and impressions/reach if you use those in your data.
6. Lastly, select Dimension 1 through Dimension 5 if you use custom dimension. Examples you may use for these dimensions include:
- Dimension #1 - Station
- Dimension #2 - Creative
- Dimension #3 - Market
- Dimension #4 - Station/Channel Format (e.g. news, country, r&b)
- Dimension #5 - Tone (e.g. “funny”, “informative”, etc.)
Make a note of your choices, as these dimensions will need to be the same EVERY time.
7. Click the NEXT button.
8. A sample data screen will appear with several examples of how the data from your CSV file looks to the system. Double check that nothing looks off.
9. Click the UPLOAD NOW button.
