Categorizing Touchpoints into Groupings

Categorizing touchpoints into groupings will help you organize your marketing efforts and quickly measure results. For example, you could group touchpoints by channel, or by campaign, e.g. “back to school," or “fall sale”. Basically, you can create a grouping for anything that makes sense for analysis.

Importantly, groupings are not set in stone and can be changed from time to time, if you’d like.

Create Groupings

To create groupings for an account, follow these steps.

  1. Using the drop-down menu under the gear icon at the top of any page, select SETTINGS.
  2. Find the block for groupings, then click MANAGE.
  3. Click ADD A GROUPING, and give it a short name, an optional description, and any keywords that helps the system suggest specific touchpoints to go into that grouping.

Common groupings LeadsRx clients use are: Direct, Email, Organic Search, Organic Social, Paid Search, Paid Social, and Referral. You can create any sort of grouping that makes sense to you and your team.

By default, touchpoints are put into the "Default Grouping" category.

Categorize Touchpoints Manually

  1. To categorize touchpoints into groupings, access them in the gear icon at the top of any page and select SETTINGS.
  2. Find the block for touchpoints, then click MANAGE.
  3. Use the search box to filter the touchpoints and help speed the process. For instance, type "search" and you will find many of the search-related touchpoints or type "default grouping" to see all of the new touchpoints that haven't yet been categorized.
  4. Select a touchpoint and select MANAGE and MOVE, then choose either an existing grouping from the drop down list or click CREATE A NEW GROUP.
  5. If there are several touchpoints you want to assign to the same grouping, use the check boxes to select them, then BULK ACTIONS lets you move the selected touchpoints together.

Auto Move Suggestions

  1. Alternatively, you can click SEE AUTO MOVE SUGGESTIONS at the top of the page.
  2. On the resulting page, you can review the suggested new grouping and accept some or all of the suggestions that the system recommends.
  3. These recommendations are based entirely on any keywords you set up when you created the grouping.
